Maria Lund is a Cosmetic Scientist based in Stockholm, Sweden. With expertise and BSc in Cosmetic Science from the University of the Arts London.
Founder of ML Cosmetic Science Consulting, helping brands and clients with a full-service package tailored to the development of cosmetic products.
Maria’s mission is to inspire people through innovative and creative product development. Consulting with brands and creative minds, using innovative technologies and raw materials to ensure products and results that are premium, high-quality Scandinavian beauty products.
EDUCATION
Maria left her job as a makeup artist to study Cosmetic Science at the University of Arts London completing a 4 year Bachelor of Science in the subject including a 1-year internship with Procter & Gamble working with fine fragrance technology.
At her 1 year internship at Procter & Gamble, Maria was part of a front end innovation team working to help drive a step-change in Fine Fragrance Innovation and consumer satisfaction through developing methods to evaluate Fine Fragrance Technology.
What Maria realised and took to heart after 4 years of studying was how unique the cosmetic industry is. Product development and formulation is deeply rooted in science but allow for creativity not seen in any other fields of science.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Through her consulting, Maria has worked with several brands ensuring their needs, values and customer satisfaction with high-quality standards in product development. From ideation, concept, testing and prototyping to finally validating and ensuring regulatory compliance of the products so that they are ready for commercialisation.
With an action-focused approach to developing consumer-relevant solutions and new product innovation, Maria provides support to a variety of different functions, always bringing a balance of consumer, technical and business relevant perspectives to her recommendations.
